Methyl Alcohol presents itself with a lack of color that maintains an odor similar to ethanol. This chemical also contains both a high point of evaporation and a low boiling point, making it a great chemical for extraction. 

Methyl Alcohol is used to separate the following but is not limited to: 

  • Rosemary Sage 
  • Citrus Peel 
  • Rice Bran 
  • Wheat Grain 
  • Plum 

Ethyl Acetone 

Ethyl Acetone is defined as a non-polar chemical.  

This combination of elements presents itself with a sweet fruit-like odor and a lack of color. This also contains a low boiling point and high point of evaporation, making it an ideal substance to extract various materials. 

Ethyl Acetone is used to distance the following: 

  • Fats(Lipids) 
  • Oils (Lipids) 
  • Waxes 
  • Phospholipids
