Furthermore, the ability to reproduce and create other plants to provide additional resources. Seeds also have the ability to create oils that vary in use, some of these uses we don’t even think about.
How do Seeds Create Oil?
We are able to get oil from seeds through a chemical process called extraction. Extraction refers to separating one thing from another. For example, using hexane (a chemical or liquid solvent that is very common for the extraction process) to get rid of debris or distill a compound from a seed. Extracting oil from seeds allows the seeds to have additional uses. There are two types of extraction: mechanical and chemical.
Extracting oil from seeds allows for the utilization of oils in aromatherapy, cooking, and the medical industry thanks to the chemical industry. Due to the extraction process, quality oils are being produced and distributed to meet market demand.
